Galaxies stalls on consoles, Ghost drops back to 2004

LucasArts has announced that development on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox versions of its highly anticipated Star Wars massively multiplayer title, Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided, has been put on hold in order to focus on the launch of the PC version.

The console versions of the title have been removed from the game website, and the company has released an official statement to the effect that development on them is now frozen - presumably until after the PC launch is out of the way.

In other slippage news, Blizzard has announced that the third person action adventure title, Starcraft Ghost, will not hit its 2003 release date and will now arrive in 2004 instead. No specific date is given, but it's thought that it should appear during the first half of the year.

"As with all Blizzard products, our goal is to make StarCraft: Ghost the best it can be," according to an official statement from the company, "and we will not release the game until it's ready."
