Future’s Online Gambler goes digital and adds one million copies a month!

UK’s first online gambling magazine hits 1,500,000 copies with pioneering digital version

14/09/05 - Future announces that Online Gambler, the UK's first dedicated online gambling magazine is boosting its circulation to a massive 1,500,000 copies per month, thanks to the introduction of a pioneering new digital version.

The innovative digital version will be distributed through 1,000,000 covermounted CDs and DVDs, across Future's growing portfolio of technology, games, music and entertainment titles - using digital publishing software from Zinio. Online Gambler will also be made available to subscribers of Zinio's recently announced and its global virtual newsstand at

Since launching Online Gambler in March this year, the monthly print run of 500,000 copies has been distributed as a supplement across a number of Future's male-interest magazines, including PC Format, PC Gamer, PC Zone and T3. The announcement of the new digital version does not affect magazines which currently include print copies.

To celebrate its massively increased circulation, the November issue of Online Gambler is entitled the 'millionaire edition.' The special celebrates the high rolling lifestyle of the poker glitterati, and looks at how readers can improve their game and aspire to join them. With input from some of the world's biggest poker stars, readers can dramatically increase their chances of making it to the final table.

Dom Beaven, Publishing Director for Future Technology said:

"Future was the first to launch a dedicated online gambling magazine in the UK and we have seen absolutely phenomenal growth of consumer interest in the gambling sector. The new digital version of Online Gambler takes the concept of a value-added free gambling supplement, created by Future and takes it to the next level.

"Online Gambler has received tremendous support from the industry and great interest from our readers. We've been working with Zinio for a number of years on our technology and entertainment titles. This extension of Online Gambler enables us to take it to a massive new audience, both in the UK and across the world."

Sarah Clegg, Commercial Director at Zinio Systems Inc added:

"Zinio is delighted to expand the existing relationship further with Future, one of the early adopters within the digital arena. We strongly believe that Online Gambler is a natural match for digital publishing and presents an enormous opportunity for this business. The nine new global newsstands will also add a significant international audience for the title."
