Future Publishing appointments

James Kick promoted to Associate Publisher; Don Ditri becomes Associate Publisher Digital.

9/02/11 – Future, the special-interest media group, has announced two key appointments within its Entertainment portfolio, further reinforcing its senior team in a year of expansion and development.

James Kick is promoted to Associate Publisher, responsible for Official PlayStation, PSM3 and FirstPlay as well the annual Golden Joystick Awards. He will start his new role immediately, reporting to Group Publisher Simon Maxwell.

After working at advertising and design agencies including Publicis, James joined Future in 2008 to oversee the games marketing team. In the last two years he’s directed strategic campaigns for all of Future’s brands, including working closely with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) on the launch of FirstPlay and helping the Golden Joystick Awards achieve over 1.54 million consumer votes in 2010.

James says: "Due to the wide variety of media touchpoints we're working across, it's a brilliant time to be stepping into a publishing role. It's going to be a great year for SCEE and I'm excited by the challenge of driving essential games media brands forward.”

Don Ditri has been appointed as Associate Publisher Digital, with direct responsibility for CVG, GamesRadar and the websites for Official Nintendo Magazine ( www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk) and Xbox 360: The Official Magazine ( www.oxm.co.uk). He will start in March and report to James Binns, Head of Edge International, PC Gaming and Online.

Don was Digital Marketing Manager at Future in 2004, before budget-exceeding success as Ad Sales Manager on CVG and GamesRadar. He returns to Future after two years as Commercial Development Manager at CBS Interactive, responsible for key brands such as GameSpot UK.

Don says: “Future is unquestionably one of the world’s leading games media companies. In an exciting year of expansion and development, I’m looking forward to helping drive forward its truly unique cross-media portfolio.”

Group Publisher Simon Maxwell says: “We spent a lot of time looking for the right people for these roles and I’m delighted with the calibre of appointment. James is extremely talented and illustrates the strength-in-depth the company has, while we know all about Don’s capabilities from his first spell at Future. We’re now very well-placed to realise everything we have planned and drive our brands to new heights.”
