Future appoints Creative Director to drive portfolio
Bob Abbott to deliver print and online development
21/06/07 - Future, the special interest media company, has today announced the appointment of Bob Abbott as its new Creative Director.
Taking on the newly created position, Bob has worked at Future for 15 years and is promoted from his current role as Group Art Director. Since joining the company as a Designer in 1992, Abbott has launched, redesigned or had significant creative influence over the company's most important brands, including Edge, Total Film and T3.
Aside from his design experience, Bob has also worked as an Editor, guiding creative magazine, Computer Arts to significant success in its early years. Most recently, he has played a significant role in the development of Future's forthcoming web brands, including bikeradar.com, which launches next month.
In his new job, Bob will focus on key brands, working closely with editorial, design, publishing and digital management teams. He will work alongside Design Director, Matt Williams, who is currently undertaking a strategic review of the company's design functions as it expands beyond magazines. Reporting to Editorial Director Jim Douglas, Bob's mandate is to drive and deliver creative excellence across Future's portfolio of magazines and websites.
