The Austin Independent Game Conference has announced that IBM, Icarus Studio, Vivox and GNi have become sponsors of this year's show.

"We are thrilled these major industry players have joined our impressive list of sponsors," says show director Mark Chuberka. "Their commitment to support the Austin IGC adds even more validation that this is an important show for all developers to attend."

Jacques Pavlenyi, IBM's small and medium business segment executive for media & entertainment, said, "The Austin IGC is an exciting opportunity to meet with the next generation of MMO game, virtual world and simulation platform developers."

"Independent developers play an important role at the forefront of shaping industry trends, and IBM values the direct dialogues we expect to have with this audience at IGC."

The event will feature keynote addresses by Richard Garriott, creator of Ultima Online and Tabula Rasa, and by Mike Wilson and Harry Miller, CEO and president of Gamecock Media Group.

Other companies who plan on participating include Critical Mass, Bigfoot Networks, BioWare, and Double Fusion.

The 2nd annual Austin IGC will take place November 29-30 at the Wyndham Hotel and Conference Center in Austin, Texas.
