FortuneMaps

Online treasure hunt driven by Google Maps and offering a weekly prize.

London (14th October 2008) - FortuneMaps Ltd announces the launch of FortuneMaps, re-introducing treasure hunting to the 21st Century. Fortune Maps is a game of skill and risk offering online gamers the opportunity to go on a virtual treasure hunt and win real money as a jackpot.

FortuneMaps is an entirely web-based game introducing a new way to use Google Maps and unlike many other online games, requires no software to download. By making use of the Google Maps platform in a new way, that launch of Fortunemaps is unique in the marketplace.

Founder, Paul Downing says "This is an old game revamped to the 21st century!"

"Gamers can participate by purchasing as many flags as they wish - each costing 2US$. They place the flags nearest to where they believe the treasure to be. Each week the location of the treasure becomes more apparent. The previous weeks flag closest to the treasure is represented by a coin and as weeks go on more gold coins appear. "

With an unlimited bandwidth, FortuneMaps has no restrictions to the number of players per treasure hunt.

There is a weekly jackpot for the person closest to the treasure that week and a jackpot which is for the person that gets within 100 metres of the treasure itself.?

To play the game, participants can purchase flags via PayPal and the winner is be paid either via Paypal, BACS or cheque. The weekly winner is chosen by the system every Sunday at midnight.
