Former EA exec enters the digital music marketplace at Snocap

Digital licensing and copyright management providers Snocap has announced the appointment of former Electronic Arts EVP Rusty Rueff to the position of chief executive officer.

Digital licensing and copyright management providers Snocap has announced the appointment of former Electronic Arts executive vice president Rusty Rueff to the position of chief executive officer.

During his time with games industry powerhouse EA, Rueff was responsible for overseeing global human resources and talent management, corporate services and facilities, corporate communications, and government affairs. Reporting directly to the games publisher's chairman and CEO for the past seven years, the industry veteran was an integral part of the executive management team accredited with developing EA's workforce to over 6500 talented staff and quadrupling the company's revenue. He currently sits on the corporate boards of All Covered and Sports Potential, and served in various roles with the PepsiCo companies for over 10 years prior to his employment with Electronic Arts.

Snocap, founded in 2002, provides en-to-end licensing and copyright management services for the music industry, providing authorised peer-to-peer services and online retailers with access to an immense library of music for digital distribution. The company's continually expanding database includes B-Sides, live recordings, remixes and out-of-print tracks in addition to the latest releases, in an attempt to offer the most comprehensive and accessible library of music for the digital marketplace. Clients utilising Snocap's services include Universal Music Group, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, EMI and an extensive portfolio of leading independent labels.
