Former 2K Games president Christoph Hartmann joins Amazon Games

Take-Two veteran and 2K founder to lead at Amazon as VP of game studios

Founder and former 2K Games president Christoph Hartmann has joined Amazon Games as its new VP of game studios.

Hartmann departed Take-Two last year after over 20 years in a multitude of roles across the company. Most notably, Hartmann was one of the founders and president of 2K Games from its establishment in 2005.

At Amazon Games, Hartmann will lead the studio's teams across Seattle, Orange Country, and San Diego in their work on games such as New World, Crucible, and other upcoming, unannounced titles.

"Gaming, today's favorite form of entertainment in the world, is connecting hundreds of millions of people," said Hartmann. "Between the teams at AGS, the incredible tools and technology from AWS, the global communities of Twitch and Twitch Prime, and all of the other assets around Amazon, there are few companies in the world set up to take gaming to the next level. I am incredibly proud and honored to become part of Amazon's highly talented and passionate group of people, to develop together hallmarks of gaming, bring amazing experiences to people all over the world, and build a gaming legacy for the years to come."
