FOG STUDIOS AND UAT LEADING LEARNING INITIATIVE

Educational and Business Leaders Developing Oral History and Best Practices Database for Interactive Development

FREDERICTON, CANADA - June 27, 2007 - FOG Studios, Inc. ( www.fogstudios.com) is assisting the University of Advancing Technology in Phoenix, AZ ( www.uat.edu) in the creation of a "Best Practices" and "Oral History" of the interactive entertainment industry. The guiding philosophy behind the project is to capture the voices of industry experts and professionals sharing their experience and expertise with current and future generations of students in the least obtrusive way that also has the greatest impact.

"Most individuals who have been in the business for more than a decade are either already giving back to people entering the business via mentoring or other informal methods, or are pre-disposed to do so," says FOG CEO Ed Dille, "but few people have the time necessary to directly interact with groups of students. By collecting oral histories, lessons learned and best practices in an audio library via MP3 recordings from Game and Level Designers, Artists and Animators, Producers, QA and Localization specialists, Legal and Business development professionals, Marketing executives and all other manner of specialists helping to bring interactive products to market, we are trying to encourage the broadest possible cross section of professionals to invest only an hour or two at any time that is convenient for them to contribute a meaningful legacy that can help many, many students for years to come."

"We are also not burdening those volunteers with specific academic objectives or course outlines that must be followed," Dille continued. "Rather, we want each participant to have complete freedom to share their best stories, their most relevant experiences and the wisdom they have gleaned personally based on their unique experiences in the industry. And how tragic would it be for some of the early pioneers of our business who are approaching retirement to leave without sharing what they have learned. It's unthinkable and we want to do our best to avoid that possibility." Once the assets are assembled, they will be reviewed and indexed by topic and timeline so that students can proceed directly to the segments that are particularly relevant to what they are working on instead of having to listen to the entire recording to glean specific information.
