Focus to Release Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell

Focus Multimedia is extremely proud to be releasing one of Ubisoft's strongest games this quarter, 'Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell.' It will enter Focus Multimedia's range of budget PC CD-ROM software at an RPP of £9.99, available in DVD style packaging.

Not only has the 'Tom Clancy' brand been well acclaimed within the PC Market, 'Splinter Cell' has also received phenomenal success. The title received 'Best of E3: Best Action/Adventure Game' and 'Overall Best Game' of ECTS, both in 2002, whilst frequently topping 'best game' polls.

'Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell' features a new echelon of stealth action, with stealth moves, gadgets and highly interactive environments. Inspired from the Tom Clancy universe with a techno-thriller story, geopolitical tensions and covert agencies, Splinter Cell is primly positioned to target the male 15-35 year old market with continuing success.

Craig Johnson of Focus Multimedia commented, 'As ever we are always pleased to license Ubisoft's products. Splinter Cell will form a major part of our strategy in the battle for presence in the Christmas market. We are positive this product will continue to enjoy tremendous success at this new price point.'

Charlie Barrett of Ubisoft commented, 'We continue to strengthen our relationship with Focus Multimedia and we look forward to seeing new consumers enjoy Ubisoft titles at the lower price point.'

Players effectively become Sam Fisher, a splinter cell covert enlisted by a top-secret military organization, the Third Echelon. As a last resort to the government and on the edge of legality and morality, you must prevent the impending World War 3, whilst ridding the world of terrorist threat posed by Russia and China.

Completely anonymous and undetectable, all missions must be completed without a trace using some of the best hi-tech weapons on the market, including a deployable decon camera that can be fired miles enabling scanning of areas for enemy traps, a fatal distraction device and multi-spectrum goggles, enabling day and night time vision. Along with an array of never seen before stealthy moves and interactive environments, Sam is awarded the 'fifth freedom,' the right to assassinate, destroy and act in any manner possible in order to complete the mission. Gamers can experience a total of 14 missions throughout 4 countries.
