Flashpoint Germany Updated to Version 1.11

Minor Update of NATO vs. Warsaw Pact Wargame

MATRIX GAMES NEWS RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Staten Island, NY, May 23rd, 2006 - Matrix Games (www.matrixgames.com) today announced the release of a new official update for their grand tactical wargame of modern combined arms combat, Flashpoint Germany. The new version 1.11 is now available from the Matrix Games website.

This new update to Flashpoint Germany makes a few minor changes to the well-received 1.10 updated. It fixes a Nuclear Option recursion issue and adjusts the Warsaw Pact T-72 tank based on testing.

Flashpoint Germany is a powder keg of a game, set in one of the most dangerous periods of the Cold War. The historical fall of the Berlin Wall, which heralded the fall of Communism throughout Europe, does not happen. Instead, the Soviet Union, knowing that collapse is on the horizon, decides to seek a military solution to their internal problems. The invasion of Western Europe by huge Soviet and Warsaw Pact armies threatens to overwhelm the desperate NATO forces that deploy to stem the tide. Will you choose to lead Mother Russia's men and material to a victory that will see the Hammer and Sickle raised over the Rhine? Or will you take the grim task of commanding the small but capable NATO forces, looking to extract a high toll from the onrushing invaders? Regardless of outcome, this most likely will be the war to end all wars!

Matrix Games recommends that all owners of Flashpoint Germany download and install this new version. This is a comprehensive update which will work on any previous version of Flashpoint Germany and is now the only update required for owners of the game.

Flashpoint Germany spans 17 different scenarios and comes complete with a Scenario Editor, Order of Battle Guide, and a Equipment Database. Additionally, players can engage in battle online, by e-mail, or against a competitive computer opponent. Each battle map is an actual rendition of real West German landscape, giving the player a realistic experience of the hypothetical struggle over the fate of Europeand the world.
