DC Studios Celebrates Fifth Birthday & Fifth Year In Profit

December 3rd. Game developer DC Studios is celebrating its fifth birthday today as well as its fifth year of operating profitably.

2004 has been a turbulent year for game developers. Several high profile studios have closed their doors, with many more facing financial uncertainty. DC Studios is unusual, if not unique, in the development sector having operated profitably since it was founded in 1999. The company continues to do so working on a number of new projects for some of the world's leading publishers and media companies.

"We recognize that the major publishers want to work with strong, reliable and secure developers, with the resources available to successfully complete the project and the stability to survive in a very volatile market," says Mark Greenshields, the CEO of DC Studios. "We have always been an extremely prudent company, focused on delivering quality titles for a reasonable profit. Operating profitably for five years provides DC with a strong benchmark in a very risk-averse industry, and shows publishers and partners all around the world that DC Studios is a responsible and high-quality developer that can help them bring their games to market successfully and securely."

Since foundation, DC Studios has established itself as one of the most successful and consistent games developers in the world. The company has offices on both sides of the Atlantic and is already planning further expansion in 2005 to provide more resources and development capacity to keep pace with a rapidly growing industry. DC Studios has successfully completed over 40 titles as a 3rd party developer for publishers including Konami, THQ, Ubisoft, Majesco, Disney, ABC and Mobilescope. DC develops across all current hardware platforms including the Microsoft Xbox, Sony PlayStation 2, GameBoy Advance, Nintendo DS, PC, Sony PSP, online and mobile phone handsets.

The company is constantly looking for new opportunities and projects and will be present at the Game Connection conference in Lyon, France, in December 2004. They will be demonstrating the company's latest original soccer title, which is being designed by football gaming legend Dino Dini, as well as arranging meetings with publishers and other companies which may be looking for experienced development partners or quality IP.
