First “Ridge Racer(TM) 6” Screenshots Tear Across the Starting Line

Namco Hometek Inc. today released the first screenshots for "Ridge RacerTM 6," the highly-anticipated next-gen installment in the classic drift racing franchise. Developed for the Xbox 360TM video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, "Ridge Racer 6" takes full advantage of the new console with unprecedented speed and control.

In "Ridge Racer 6," players take to the track for the most immersive and thrilling Ridge Racer experience yet. Against a backdrop of gorgeous, next-gen visuals, racers strive for global dominance in an array of single and multiplayer gameplay modes. For the first time in the celebrated series, "Ridge Racer 6" features extensive Xbox Live® compatibility, offering exhilarating head-to-head drift races and downloadable contents. Players can also strategically explore the Ridge universe in the all-new World Xplorer Mode, which includes more than 230 races. "Ridge Racer 6" also incorporates exhilarating jumps, an evolved nitrous system and 5.1ch Dolby Digital Surround.

The first "Ridge Racer 6" screenshots show off a variety of the game's beautiful and thrilling courses, which include a modern metropolis, a surfside resort, industrial bayside, a city night scene and a canyon. The images also provide a sneak-peek at the elegant curves and detailed textures created by "Ridge Racer 6's" evolved machine graphics. More than 130 machines, including the HIJACK pickup truck, will make an appearance in the game.

"Ridge Racer 6" drifts to stores in November 2005, and players will be able to experience the high-definition entertainment as soon as the Xbox 360 is available.
