FIFA 08 will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii, PC, PS2, DS, PSP and mobile this autumn, marking the first appearance of the game on Sony and Nintendo's next-gen consoles.

Ronaldinho will appear on the cover of the game in all territories. The German version will also star Miroslav Klose, while Sergio Ramos has been signed up for Spain, Andreas Ivanschitz for Austria and Tranquillo Barnetta for Switzerland.

The cover will feature Florent Malouda and Frank Ribery in France. EA is set to announce which football stars will be shown on the US and UK versions next month.

The stars involved are currently in Barcelona, taking part in motion-capture sessions. EA is aiming to capture "the body movements, individual moves and playing style of each athlete".

"The access, guidance and insight they give us means that FIFA 08 will create a next gen experience that not only looks authentic, but that captures the emotion, finesse and beauty of the game," said producer Joe Booth.
