Fathammer and Zingy join forces on 50 Cent mobile game

Get Rich or Die Tryin' due out in the same month the film premieres in the UK.

Mobile games publisher Fathammer and mobile media company Zingy will partner to develop and co-publish a game based on hip-hop artist 50 Cent's forthcoming film Get Rich or Die Tryin'.

The film, already released in the US, will see release in the UK on January 20th. The mobile game will be made available through carriers worldwide during the same month.

Zingy currently has exclusive Paramount and 50 Cent licenses, and VP of Licensing and Publishing Scott Debson said that Fathammer's involvement guaranteed a game that lived up to the source material.

"Working with Fathammer ensures that these licenses are used to their full potential from concept through to creation - plus fans of 50 Cent and the movie will be ecstatic with the game," he said.

Fathammer CEO Matti Airas said the mobile game would be "the perfect tool to create and expand on the relationship between the audience and a popular film". "We're excited to bring the powerful storyline of Get Rich or Die Tryin' to life with interactivity and amazing game play," he added.

50 Cent also appears in an entirely separate home console title called 50 Cent Bulletproof, which is available on PlayStation 2 and Xbox through Vivendi Universal Games. A PlayStation Portable version is also currently in development.
