LONDON- UK- 11th April, 2005 - Ubisoft, one of the world's largest video game publishers, today announced that Far Cry InstinctsTM will ship for consoles in September 2005. Based on Far Cry®, the worldwide acclaimed tropical PC shooter released by Ubisoft in 2004, Far Cry InstinctsTM is a technically advanced gaming experience built from the ground up using the kind of cutting-edge technology that Far Cry® fans will recognise from the award-winning PC title. A hands-on demo of Far Cry InstinctsTM will be present at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 18th May - 20th May in Los Angeles, California.
Just as Far Cry® redefined the First-Person Shooter genre for the PC, Far Cry InstinctsTM will take things a step further with its wide open environments and unique immersive gameplay elements. Developed by Ubisoft's renowned Montreal studio, Far Cry InstinctsTM takes the PC version's signature locations, Full-Action Response A.I. (F.A.R. concept), and unprecedented view-distance, and combines them with improved gameplay scenarios that will challenge players to utilise an even broader range of strategies and survival tactics to uncover the many secrets within the beautiful, but deadly islands.
"Ubisoft is blending the winning formula of Far Cry® for the PC with the hardware capabilities of the consoles. The result - an intense action-packed gameplay experience that will raise the bar for the First-Person Shooter Survival genre," said Tony Kee, vice president of marketing for Ubisoft. "In Far Cry InstinctsTM, players will become the Ultimate Predator, as they are forced to outlast the wilderness hell and unleash every imaginable survival tactic and skill."
