Fallout, Assassin's Creed, God of War get writing nominations

WGA shortlist announced

Nominees for the 2011 Videogame Writing Award have been announced.

Up for a prize from the Writer's Guild of America are Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Fallout: New Vegas, God of War III, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, Singularity and Prince of Persia: the Forgotten Sands.

As in previous years, games hoping to be selected must specifically credit their writers, and those writers must be WGA members - meaning the award has traditionally attracted some perhaps surprising nominations.

Last year, Uncharted 2's Amy Hennig took home the prize. This year's winner will be announced on February 5.
