Fallout 3

Available from Direct2Drive alongside its retail release.

BRISBANE, Calif. – October 28, 2008 – Direct2Drive, IGN Entertainment’s digital retail store, today announced that Fallout® 3 is now available digitally for purchase on Direct2Drive ( in conjunction with its retail release. Fallout 3 joins additional titles from publisher Bethesda Softworks® that are currently available on Direct2Drive, including The Elder Scrolls® IV: Oblivion®. Fallout 3 is available in North America for digital download via Direct2Drive today, and will be available in the United Kingdom via Direct2Drive UK ( on October 31.

With the addition of Fallout 3, Bethesda Softworks continues to contribute to Direct2Drive's AAA roster of leading game publishers that are making titles available for digital download. The list, which also includes Atari, Activision, Blizzard Entertainment, Eidos, Electronic Arts, Namco, NCsoft, Rockstar Games, Sega, Sony Online Entertainment, THQ, Ubisoft, Vivendi Universal Games and 2K Games, underscores the growing investment the industry's top publishers are making in digital delivery.

Fallout 3 is one of the most highly-anticipated titles coming out from Bethesda Softworks and the latest installment of the Fallout franchise was recently honored with the “Overall Game of the Show” award from at this year’s E3 gaming conference. Fallout 3 is an action role-playing game and features one of the most realized game worlds ever created. Set more than 200 years following a nuclear war, players can create any kind of character they want and explore the open wastes of Washington, D.C however they choose. Every minute is a fight for survival as gamers encounter Super Mutants, Ghouls, Raiders, and other dangers of the Wasteland.
