CARY, N.C. – March 18, 2009 – Developers of the self-titled post-apocalyptic MMO Fallen Earth have announced that they are co-sponsoring the International Game Developers Association (IGDA) networking event on March 24 as part of the annual Game Developers Conference (GDC) in San Francisco. Key members of the Fallen Earth development team will be onsite at the IGDA gathering to discuss the exciting new title.
Fallen Earth is a massively multiplayer online game that strategically combines first-person shooter and traditional role-playing game designs. Set in the post-apocalyptic Grand Canyon, Fallen Earth features 70 towns, six competing factions, a classless advancement system and a crafting system in which players can make 95 percent of game items.
The national tour, which included previous stops to Raleigh, N.C. and Baltimore, Md., takes Fallen Earth on the road to fans and game enthusiasts through IGDA chapter meetings and other local gaming events.
“The IGDA gathering at GDC puts us at the epicenter of the international gaming community and we are eager to talk about how the game is coming together,” said Lee Hammock, lead game designer for Fallen Earth. “Input from our closed beta community has been incredible and we are excited to hear more from game developers and enthusiasts around the country.”
In addition to Hammock, Fallen Earth Project Manager Colin Dwan, Associate Project Manager Dave Haydysch, Content Team Lead Marie Croall and Product Manager Jessica Orr will also be in San Francisco.
“Our beta testers are awesome and the feedback they have provided has been invaluable to our development team as we continue to refine and polish the game,” said Dwan. “We are really looking forward to the IGDA event and spreading the word about Fallen Earth at GDC.”
