FaceFighter

Multiplayer mode added to photo-importing beat-'em-up.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CARLSBAD, California -- August 25, 2009 -- Appy Entertainment’s best-selling FaceFighter ( www.appyfacefighter.com) now features head-to-head multiplayer mode. Players can battle friends “face to face” via iPhone Bluetooth wireless.

“We’ve continuously built on FaceFighter since our release in June,” said Appy Entertainment Project Director Emmanuel Valdez. “We’ve added new enemies, new weapons, and new Immortal Judgment finishing moves. Now, we’ve added the feature most commonly requested by our fans -- head-to-head two-player mode.”

Multiplayer mode requires that both fighters have an iPhone 3G, and iPhone 3GS, or a second-generation iPod Touch. “We are committed to supporting our apps and keeping pace with Apple as they develop the iPhone platform,” said Appy CEO Chris Ulm. “With the release of this update, FaceFighter joins a select group of games in the App Store that take full advantage of Apple’s newest hardware.”

The 2.0 version of FaceFighter has been distributed for free to existing owners. “We hope this new version of FaceFighter will encourage new players to jump on board, but our first duty is to our existing customers,” said Appy Brand Director Paul O’Connor. “Multiplayer is a gift to the players who have supported Appy through our earliest days. We will continue to support FaceFighter with new content and new features, so even players who can’t take advantage of multiplayer have plenty to look forward to with this franchise.”

“Our motto has always been, ‘If It Has A Face, You Can Fight It,’” said Valdez. “Now, the faces you fight aren’t limited to the mimes and mutant freaks we’ve shipped with the game, or the faces on your camera roll. You can fight with anyone who is also armed with an iPhone and a copy of the game. But be careful -- even those players who have mastered our toughest A.I. may find the tables have turned when fighting a live opponent. It’s a whole new game.”
