Euro-empire expands into Spain.

Press Release

Brighton, England, October 15th, 2008: Eurogamer Network today announces the launch of its fifth European-language website - Eurogamer España. The site is now live at https://www.eurogamer.es.

Eurogamer España is the third Eurogamer site to be launched this year. The company has continued to pursue its strategy of finding expert local partners, this time joining up with the team behind popular Spanish gaming blog Anaitgames.com.

“We’ve once again found a fantastic group to work with, and we’re delighted to be able to launch a site in this key gaming market," said Rupert Loman, managing director of Eurogamer.

"Our European network is now demonstrating its potential with co-ordinated, pan-European editorial, marketing and community activities. We look forward to building a fantastic community in Spain together with Xavi, Josep, Albert and their team.”

Eurogamer España’s Xavi Robles Sàrries added, “It’s a great pleasure for us to become part of the Eurogamer Network, and we feel now is the perfect time to expand the brand to Spain. Spanish readers will especially enjoy Eurogamers, our social networking feature, and video platform Eurogamer TV.”

Each local Eurogamer website has its own editorial team to provide the best possible content for each community, and is also able to draw on the shared resources of the Eurogamer Network where required. Eurogamer Network websites continue to enjoy rapid growth, and reached more than 2.6 million unique users in September this year.

October 2008 is a landmark month for Eurogamer. As well as launching Eurogamer España, the company is gearing up for its first ever live gaming event: the Eurogamer Expo. It's being held at the Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, London from 28th - 29th October. With 15 publishers showing over 60 games at the show, this is an event no committed gamer should miss.
