ESA refuses to comment on new E3 rumours

Announcement for reformatted event to come at "appropriate time"

Following a series of reports that the E3 Expo was being reformatted into an effort to reinvigorate the event, the Entertainment Software Association has refused to comment, telling GamesIndustry.biz that an annoucement would be made when the organisation is good and ready.

"I can't comment on rumors," said a spokesperson. "But can tell you that an announcement about the 2009 E3 Expo will be made at an appropriate time."

Earlier reports indicated that the July event would be a much larger affair than this year's, with conflicting reports saying the latter half would be opened to the public and attendance capped at 40,000.
