ESA hires head of govt relations

Erik Huey to take responsibility for federal and state lobbying in US

Former Kilpatrick Stockton partner Erik Huey has been appointed by the Entertainment Software Association as its head of government relations, the organisation has announced.

He will head up the lobbying process at federal and state level in the US starting next month as senior VP for government affairs.

"Erik's demonstrated advocacy abilities on behalf of numerous entertainment and telecommunications clients will serve him well as he navigates the specific challenges and opportunities that the ESA and our member companies face," said Michael D Gallagher, CEO of the ESA. "As game technologies and gamer demographics continue to evolve, the entertainment software industry will rely on Erik and his team to help foster a beneficial environment for our industry’s innovation and creativity."

Huey also previously worked for Venable LLP, BellSouth Corporation, and played roles in several election campaigns, most recently helping to coordinate voter protection and mobilisation efforts in Western Pennsylvania for the Obama camp.
