Los Angeles, CA - (October 19, 2006) - Cris Velasco and Sascha Dikiciyan, two of the most in-demand composers in the game industry today, have completed a powerful hybrid live-orchestra/industrial score for "Dark Messiah of Might and Magic," the highly anticipated next chapter in the "Might and Magic" series from Ubisoft.

"When you have a successful brand like Might and Magic, you have to be very meticulous about all the details of creating the game," says Romain de Waubert de Genlis, Producer at Ubisoft. "We take great care creating this world, and we needed the soundtrack to be truly outstanding. We wanted the game's sound to be a blend of ancient and modern elements, and we turned to Cris and Sascha to deliver that for us. They gave us a score that fit our vision beautifully."

To achieve the unique sound of the "Dark Messiah of Might and Magic" soundtrack, Velasco combined an aggressive orchestral score with a choir performing an original text in the ancient language of Sanskrit. Dikiciyan then layered modern sound design and industrial elements within it. Velasco conducted part of the live orchestra and choral recording session in the Czech Republic. "The musicians in Prague were outstanding," says Velasco. "They really responded to the music, and gave us a beautiful performance."

While Velasco worked with the live musicians, Dikiciyan was charged with creating the custom sound design and electronic elements for the music score. Using everything from simple items, such as metal chains, to complex atmospheres created with the Kyma workstation, Dikiciyan created a sonic palette of unique sounds for the "Dark Messiah of Might and Magic" music score.

"It's always a great experience for us to work with Ubisoft," says Dikiciyan. "They're very open to our interpretations of the game's sound atmosphere and trust our creative instincts. As composers and gamers, it's very exciting for us."

An official soundtrack of the game will be released with the collector's edition of "Dark Messiah of Might and Magic."
