Ninja Theory's Tameem Antoniades to host an event at BAFTA.

With its breathtaking cinematic visuals, rich storyline and major Hollywood talent, this stunning post-apocalyptic game is set to take the industry by storm

On 27th September 2010, in association with NAMCO BANDAI Partners UK and Gamespot UK, BAFTA’s headquarters at 195 Piccadilly, London presents an evening with the developer behind the year’s most hotly anticipated game: ‘ENSLAVED TM : Odyssey to the West TM ’. As part of BAFTA’s mission to provide public access to the most original and inspiring minds in video games, Ninja Theory Ltd’s Co-Founder and Chief Creative Ninja Tameem Antoniades will present what critics are hailing as a potential ‘Game of the Year’, as well as conducting a live public Q&A session on working with some of Britain’s most creative talent.

Starring Andy Serkis (of Lord of the Rings fame) as the lead character ‘Monkey’ and performance capture co-director, co-written by novelist and screenwriter Alex Garland (The Beach, 28 Days Later), and with a soundtrack composed by Nitin Sawhney, ‘ENSLAVED: Odyssey to the West’ is set to be one of the biggest games of the year.

Hosted by Tameem Antoniades and Guy Cocker, Editor of GameSpot UK, this live presentation, Q&A and demo session will reveal how this post-apocalyptic spectacular was shaped by the stunning line-up of talent to create a truly unique vision. The evening includes hands-on opportunities to guide Monkey and his tech-savvy companion Trip through a lush, eerie world of war-ravaged cityscapes reclaimed by nature and fraught with danger.

Developed by the legendary Cambridge-based BAFTA-nominated Ninja Theory, ‘ENSLAVED: Odyssey to the West’ takes players through a gripping action-adventure. Set 150 years from now, in a post-apocalyptic future America, players take on the role of Monkey (Serkis), who forms an uneasy union with Trip, a female trying to get home to her family. When he's unconscious she fits a slave headband onto him, linking them together and meaning he must protect her. If she dies, he dies.

“’ENSLAVED’ truly is a gaming masterpiece. It’s cinematic in a way that’s never really been achieved by any other video game. It’s astonishingly beautiful with an incredibly huge amount of British talent bringing together a piece of entertainment that will go down in history.” Lee Kirton, Marketing and PR Manager, NAMCO BANDAI Partners UK

"I'm incredibly excited to be hosting this BAFTA Q&A event with Ninja Theory. This is not only a chance for the public to see how the greatest talents in games, movies, literature and music have collaborated, but for them to actually play one of the most highly anticipated games of the year ahead of release." Guy Cocker, Editor of GameSpot UK

"I can’t stop smiling about the fact that we’ve got Ninja Theory talking about this amazing collaboration here at BAFTA – it’s a great opportunity to talk about the talent for gamers, students, and people working in games and all the other creative industries." Dave Green, Video Games Events Producer, BAFTA
