eMagin Z800 Delivers True Stereo 3D Gaming At E3

LOS ANGELES (E3), May 18, 2005 - eMagin Corporation (AMEX:EMA), a leader in virtual imaging technology, is taking gamers "inside" some of today's most popular titles. Attendees at this week's E3 show can try eMagin's Z800 3D Visor at Booth 6722 in the Kentia exhibit hall of the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The Z800 3D Visor will also be featured in the America's Army booth (1608, South Hall), with Quantum 3D's Expedition System. "No matter how big your computer display is, it has borders - limits on your view," said Susan Jones, chief marketing officer, eMagin Corporation. "Our Z800 Visor eliminates those limits. Instead of panning with your mouse or joystick, you can scan the virtual world around you by moving your head, like real life. And you can see this virtual world in 3D stereovision - also like real life."

The eMagin Z800 3D Visor provides a view equivalent to a 105-inch screen at twelve feet and 3D capability. Its high-speed head tracker enables full 360-degree virtual-surround viewing. Completing this experience is an integrated, audio system with high fidelity ear buds and a built-in noise-canceling microphone. In addition, the Z800 delivers this experience while drawing its power from any standard USB port with no additional power sources.

Ideal for computer gaming, the Z800 3D Visor also supports PC-based simulation, graphics, design, and personal entertainment programs. It can be used as the primary display or as an extended dual-monitor with a laptop. In addition to providing a compelling gaming experience, the Z800 3D Visor is perfect for high-resolution private viewing of DVDs from your computer and viewing proprietary work while traveling or in tight spaces.

At the core of the Z800 are eMagin SVGA 3D OLED microdisplays. These displays deliver high speed, high-resolution (800 X 600 triad picture elements), high-color (>16 million) imagery for near-eye applications. Because OLED materials emit their own light, the displays are thinner and lighter than conventional LCDs, and they require less power, permitting the Z800 to deliver stereovision, head tracking, and hi-fi sound from a USB power source. OLED displays offer higher contrast and a wider dispersion of light, making them more comfortable to view and usable for near-eye applications. eMagin's patented 3D OLED displays recognize and deliver left-eye and right-eye stereovision signals with unsurpassed efficiency. Color data is buffered under each pixel site, eliminating flicker and smear.

Pricing and Availability

With a list price of $899, the eMagin Z800 3D Visor will be available in June directly from the company's website and through selected outlets. eMagin will also make the technology available for customization by OEMs. For updates on availability or to pre-order, customers can visit www.3dvisor.com.
