New event to examine economic effects of industry in Europe

The European Game Developers Federation is to host the first European Games Summit next month, November 7, at Kinepolis, Brussels.

The Summit precedes Next, Belgium's biggest annual gaming and consumer technology show, and aims to support and stimulate the Euro gaming community.

Organisers promise to bring together EU officials, investors and game developers to examine the industry's influence on economies and the social benefits of the games industry in Europe.

Speakers already confirmed include Eidos' Ian Livingstone, Quantic Dreams CEO Guillaume de Fondaumière and Malte Behrmann, director general of the EGDF.
