EA looks to score big with street football franchise

FIFA Street 2 available on mobiles this month

EA Mobile has announced the launch of urban soccer game FIFA Street 2, hoping to capitalise on the tail end of World Cup fever and replicate the game's considerable console success.

The multi-format console version of the game soared straight into the top of the UK charts earlier this year, taking the action away from the stadiums and into the back street playgrounds to offer fans of the beautiful game something a little different.

Focusing heavily on offensive and defensive manoeuvres, nimble tricks, flashy tackles and quick spins, the mobile game aims to "capture the look and feel of the console product", promising intuitive controls and multiple gameplay modes.

Compatible with a broad range of java-enabled handsets, FIFA Street 2 will be available for download across Europe from the end of July.
