EA AND LIONHEAD BRING BLACK & WHITE® 2 TO SHOPS IN OCTOBER

Choose destructive or benevolent path in long-awaited sequel to Black & White®

CHERTSEY, UK - October 04, 2005 - Electronic Arts, the world's leading interactive entertainment company today announced that Black & White® 2 for PC will hit stores in the UK and Ireland on 7 October 2005. Developed by Lionhead Studio's creative minds Peter Molyneux and RTS-creator Ron Millar, Black & White 2 is the long awaited sequel to the top selling game Black & White.

"Everyone at Lionhead is very excited to bring this much anticipated Black & White sequel to gamers this October," says Peter Molyneux. "Players will again have to choose between being benevolent or destructive; and the world and their creatures will grow to reflect their choices."

In Black & White 2 players take on the role of an all-powerful deity in search of a following to return to a land where discovery of weaponry and warfare has marred a once idyllic Eden. With the help of a gigantic Creature, which you raise from infancy, you must earn the natives' respect to create a society that will influence the world either through conquest or peaceful contact. Whether you accomplish this by nurturing or torturing them, is up to you.

Black & White 2 includes improved graphics, AI, game play, sound and miracle effects such as rivers of fire and earthquakes that yield massive destruction. Now every action a player takes will have an impact on the world. Players who choose the good path will see a game world in which everything is lush and beautiful, where people laugh with joy and where buildings glisten and are festooned with vines. Those who choose the evil path, will instead move in a dark and forbidding world, where the ground is cracked and dry and the predominant sounds are of suffering. Plus the record breaking creatures in the game can learn strategies, master new abilities and skills, lead armies into battle and be your ultimate unit.

A special Collector's edition of Black & White 2 will become available in the UK & Ireland on 7 October. It will contain a Making of Black & White 2 DVD, featuring exclusive interviews with the team behind the game including Peter Molyneux as well as extensive game footage. The Collector's edition will also offer players an extra bonus creature - the Tiger - bringing the total of selectable creatures to five.

Black & White 2 is developed by Lionhead Studios and distributed by EA and has been rated PG by the BBFC and 12+ by PEGI. For more information about Black & White 2, please visit www.blackandwhite2.ea.com or our press Web site at http://info.ea.com
