US publisher and distributor Crave Entertainment Group has announced the appointment of industry veteran Rob Dyer as its new president and chief operating officer, following a six year tenure at the helm of Eidos in North America.

Dyer's appointment was announced by Crave's CEO, Nima Taghavi, who described him as "a proven presidential strategist and practical profit builder," and said that his role would be to "further enhance our growth in distribution and value publishing."

Prior to joining Crave, Dyer was president of Eidos Interactive for six years, managing brands such as Tomb Raider, Deus Ex and Hitman. He came to Eidos from Crystal Dynamics, where he was president for four years and represented the company's owners in the negotiations that eventually sold the firm to Eidos.

"My goal is to use my experience and knowledge of the industry to help lead CEG through this period of growth as it evolves into a top tier entertainment distribution and publishing company," Dyer said in a statement today. "I am very pleased to have this opportunity with CEG."
