Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012

Card battle follow-up coming to XBLA, PSN and Steam.

March 10, 2011 - RENTON, WA - Wizards of the Coast today announced the Magic: The Gathering 2012 product line-up featuring the Magic: The Gathering 2012 Core Set for the paper trading card game (TCG) and Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 on Xbox LIVE© Arcade, PC/Steam and PlayStation® Network this summer.

Building on the success of the original Duels of the Planeswalkers, Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 will introduce all new game modes, Planeswalker opponents, decks, puzzle challenges and other exciting new features when it launches on Xbox LIVE© Arcade, PC/Steam and PlayStation® Network this summer.

With an easy to use tutorial, Duels of the Planeswalkers is the best way for new players to learn Magic: The Gathering. Players that are already familiar with Magic will enjoy a new-to-digital multiplayer game mode called Archenemy where players gather up to two allies and team up against the AI.

Attendees at the PAX East convention in Boston are welcome to gather their allies into three person teams to participate in the hands-on demo of the Archenemy game mode for Duels 2012 at the Magic: The Gathering booth (#648). A variety of Magic: The Gathering events for the paper TCG product will also be available in Gaming Hall B.
