DOOM RPG Wins “Mobile Phone Game of the Year” Award At The 2005 Digital Entertainment & Media Excellence Awards

LOS ANGELES - (December 2, 2005) - Global wireless entertainment publisher JAMDAT Mobile Inc. (NASDAQ: JMDT) announced today that id Software's popular title DOOM RPGTM has been named "Mobile Phone Game of the Year" at the 2005 Digital Entertainment & Media Excellence (DEMX) Awards, presented yesterday evening at the Century Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles. DOOM RPG was co-developed by Fountainhead Entertainment and id Software, and is published by JAMDAT Mobile.

"It is an honor to be recognized by such influential members of the digital entertainment industry," said Mitch Lasky, Chairman and CEO of JAMDAT Mobile Inc. "It was a pleasure to work with the brilliant team at id Software to bring DOOM RPG to wireless. It is gratifying to have this groundbreaking game named 'Mobile Phone Game of the Year.'"

"I am very pleased that our initial foray into mobile gaming has been so well received," said John Carmack, Co-owner and Technical Director of id Software. "It was exciting to develop a new game play style on a new platform in such a short time, and we are looking forward to exploring many other interesting possibilities in the mobile space in the coming years."

"We are pleased to recognize JAMDAT and id Software for their success with DOOM," said Ned Sherman, CEO and Awards Co-Chair of Digital Media Wire. "JAMDAT continues to show that it is one of the most innovative and creative companies in the mobile entertainment space."

The 2005 DEMX Awards included 30 market-leading categories honoring innovation and entrepreneurship in digital music, film, games and marketing. Judges were comprised of an elite group of industry executives and leaders hand picked from the digital entertainment industry, representing the creative community, major entertainment companies, academic institutions and the media. The DEMX Awards were presented at the awards dinner as part of the DEMXPO, a comprehensive digital entertainment and media event, which represented all sides of the industry such as digital TV and video, digital music, advertising, gaming and wireless.

DOOM RPG is a new take on id Software's world-renowned DOOM franchise. The game preserves the look, feel and excitement of the original DOOM® game, while integrating a tactical, turn-based combat system for easy to learn one-handed gaming. Crafted specifically for mobile phones, DOOM RPG sends players to a secretive Martian research facility to solve the mystery of a massive demonic invasion. DOOM RPG captivates die-hard fans looking for a little bit of hell on-the-go while introducing a whole new generation to the classic that started the first-person gaming revolution.

The DEMXPO is sponsored by three of VNU's leading publications, Adweek magazines (including Adweek, Mediaweek and Brandweek), Billboard Magazine and The Hollywood Reporter, in addition to Nielsen Entertainment and Digital Media Wire.
