DOFUS 2.0

"Frigost" expansion arrives tomorrow, bringing a new ice continent for high-level players to explore.

For immediate publication

Roubaix, France – June 24, 2010 – Ankama is announcing the release of the first DOFUS expansion since the graphic engine update in December 2009. Frigost - the ice continent - will surface on June 25, introducing more content for high level players.

In the shape of a whale, the Island of Frigost offers new content for players from level 100 to 200. The expansion introduces new icy versions of existing monsters as well as new monster families, and hundreds of new quests. The peculiarity of this extension is the scripted evolution which will unlock the quests and areas one after the other. The expansion will be implemented in three parts, while the final boss of the extension will be available in the third episode.

The first episode contains six unique families of monsters (39 new monsters total), 4 new dungeons, nearly 80 new quests (including the hunt of wanted monsters), more than 100 new objects and equipment (some with new types of bonuses such as resistance to critical hits), and 7 new zones representing 900 maps to explore. Twenty new paddocks for Dragoturkey breeding and over 300 new homes will be implemented on each server. On the practical side, it is now possible to save custom sets of equipment, thereby equipping them in one click, and create characters builds in order to meet specific needs. This episode is mainly intended for players from level 100-180.

A few of the Frozen Lake Monsters

The story of Frigost :

Nearly a century ago, Frigost was a green and fertile land, where the climate was mild and temperate. Promoting progress and innovation, the island had become the largest agricultural power in the World of Twelve. Only Amakna, its rival, always threatened to supplant them...

To avoid this, Count Harebourg, genius of his time, built a machine capable of influencing the climate.

Fascinated by this wonderful invention, Jiva, the Guardian of Javian, asked the Count to refine the technology in order to carry out a secret mission. But the experiment was cut short and the Demon Djaul, who was not expected there, went into a rage. To punish the inhabitants of Frigost for this affront, he froze the island in time and ordered its residents to live in a perpetual winter...
