Distinctive Get The Double

3D Pool & Sequel Reach The UK Mobile Game Charts Top 10

For Immediate Release:

February 2nd. Distinctive Developments is celebrating this week with with two of the company's original games titles in the UK mobile games top 10.

3D Pool was released in August 2005 and has been in the top 10 since September. Now its sequel 3D Pool Urban Hustle, released in November has joined it.

Both games were created by Distinctive Developments, one of Europe's largest independent mobile games studios and published by I-Play. The games are among the first on the market to feature advanced 3-dimensional graphics, yet which run on a wide range of popular handsets, without requiring dedicated 3D support. Both titles received excellent reviews from the media around the world

Both titles are based around classic pool. Allowing players to compete in single or multiplayer games, as well as honing their skills in practice sessions or mastering challenges and trick shots - all in full colour 3D.

The success of both titles shows that Distinctive has hit upon a winning combination of a simple, playable version of a widely loved sport combined with advanced 3D graphics.

3D Pool's five month stay in the charts also highlights another benefit of the mobile gaming sector - shelf life. Successful mobile games can carry on selling for months, if not years.

"The mobile games industry needs to realise that a games shelf-life can be much longer than two months." says Nigel Little, the managing director of Distinctive. "The market is still so young that we don't know just how long a good game will carry on selling, but it's likely to be measured in years. If you look at the other games in the top 10 with 3D Pool and 3D Pool Urban Hustle - titles like PAC-MAN*, Tetris* and Monopoly*, they've been on the market for quite some time and are still extremely popular. This is very, very positive and shows that classic games, with strong consumer pull can and should be supported by publishers, carriers and retailers in the long term. We are delighted that our games are in such noteworthy company in the Top 10 and we're looking forward to more players finding and enjoying the games in the coming months."

I-play managed the successful roll-out of both titles globally, achieving strong feature placement on operator decks and supported the launches with online and print promotions, marketing and PR campaigns.

3D Pool and 3D Pool Urban Hustle are available from all leading mobile network operators and portals, as well as directly from I-play's website: www.iplay.com .
