Survival horror scoops top award.

On Wednesday, March 2 nd, Direct2Drive (D2D), a leader in the digital distribution of video games, announced Amnesia: The Dark Descent from developer Frictional Games the winner for the 13th Annual Independent Games Festival's (IGF) Direct2Drive Vision Award. The game is a first person, survival horror game that launched last year for the PC.

The Direct2Drive Vision Award honors independent developers and the groundbreaking work they do to present fresh ideas and innovation across the gaming industry.

Set in a desolate but dangerous castle, Amnesia: The Dark Descent takes players on a frightening psychological journey that explores the depths and horrors of the human mind. A game where every sound and sight could mean the difference between life and death, players must use their wits to stay alive.

A highly acclaimed indie game, Amnesia: The Dark Descent has been nominated for multiple awards as part of IGN's Best of 2010, including Best Horror Game, Coolest Atmosphere, and the prestigious PC Game of the Year award.
