Develop in Brighton 2011

Final call for speakers at event.

The call for speaker submissions for this year’s Develop in Brighton Conference closes at midnight on Thursday 31 March 2011. Proposals can be submitted online at www.developconference.com.

The Develop in Brighton Conference is in its sixth year and will take place from 19 – 21 July at the Hotel Metropole. With more than 1,300 attendees and unrivalled content and networking opportunities, the event has established itself firmly as Europe’s leading event for the game development community.

“More than 80 top quality sessions are presented each year by international game development experts and approximately one fifth of these originate from our call for papers,” commented Andy Lane, managing director of organiser Tandem Events.

“It’s critical that the industry is involved in shaping Develop’s conference content, after all, no one understands the challenges facing developers, the trends they need to be aware of and the strategies they should be adopting, better than the developers themselves.”

Notes to editors:

About the Develop Conference:

The sixth Develop Conference will take place at the Hilton Metropole in Brighton, UK, from 19 - 21 July 2011. The learning will continue on Wednesday and Thursday with the Develop Conference tackling the issues, tools, tricks and techniques of game development and offering practical advice and solutions for today’s developers.

Indie Dev Day passes are £75 (£50 early bird).

Evolve focuses on how to develop games for new and emerging platforms, new technologies and new markets like social and casual gaming. It opens on Tuesday 19 July then continues with individual sessions within the main conference programme on Wednesday 20 July, which are cross-discipline and have a more general appeal.

Games:EDU is a one-day conference taking place on Wednesday 20 July alongside Develop, which brings together the UK's foremost educators from across all disciplines to connect directly with developers and games producers, to exchange ideas and perspectives.

Indie Dev Day the new day-long conference and networking event running alongside Develop is designed for established independent studios, new start-ups, wannabe indies, freelance developers and students. The sessions will complement the brand new Indie Dev Showcase: a dedicated area within the Develop Expo (20 - 21 July) featuring some of the exciting and new indie projects currently under development.
