Develop Conference

Keynotes to be delivered by some industry giants.

Featuring one MP, two conferences, seven tracks, nine keynotes and 85 sessions over three days and around 1,200 attendees, this year’s Develop in Brighton Conference on 13-15 July promises to be the broadest, deepest and most diverse yet.

Speakers hail from a dynamic mix of companies, from global giants to one man bands. Media, entertainment, gaming and technology powerhouses taking part in Develop in Brighton include Sony Computer Entertainment, Google Japan, Pixar, Rare, BioWare, Bigpoint, Lionhead, BBC Worldwide, Double Fine, Channel 4, PopCap, Nuts, Instant Action, Unity Technologies, Ninja Theory and Activision. But the programme also features individuals with incomparable expertise, such as eminent composer and professor of sound Stephen Deutsch.

Develop in Brighton speakers – including keynotes from Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka, Tim Schafer, Adam Levenson, Louis Castle, Mark Gerhard, Andrew Dayton, George Andreas, David Helgason, Charles Cecil, Sean Millard, Simon Nelson and Iain Tweedale - will debate, explore and dissect the hottest games development topics around.

Sessions will focus on issues such as motion and remote control gaming; ‘freemium’ content; 3D gaming; why game sequels are better than film sequels; how to develop for mobile and online; how to grow your user base from 100 to 100,000; understanding how players play games; how to survive without tax credits; the importance of lighting and sound; and how to get more from the media.

“With the launch of new technologies, the rapid rise of new formats and the increasing diversity of new methods of development, sales and distribution, Europe no longer has a ‘traditional’ games industry as such, that’s why this year’s Develop in Brighton Conference looks way beyond ‘traditional’ gaming to offer our most varied content and extensive networking social calendar to date,” commented event director Andy Lane, Tandem Events.
