Develop 100

Tiga members put in good showing.

Last week the Develop 100 2008 saw many Tiga members climbing the ranks. Tiga’s three founding members - Blitz Games, Kuju Entertainment and Rebellion - all made it into the top 100, with Rebellion’s rise to No.16 making them Europe’s leading independent developer.

Chris Kingsley of Rebellion says,

“The games industry has grown exponentially over the past 15 years. Thanks to Tiga, many games businesses have adapted and grown significantly. Tiga brings valuable benefits to developers of all sizes, either independent or publisher-owned, ensuring that the UK continues to produce some of the best games developers in the world.”

Jason Kingsley supported this by saying,

“Rebellion was a founder of Tiga and we’ve always been committed to supporting and building Tiga’s offering. In turn, Tiga has been our voice in addressing many issues affecting studios at both the governmental and publisher level. Tiga is an essential part of UK PLC and we’re happy to be a partner with them in support of UK developers.”

In response to the Develop 100 rankings, Richard Wilson, CEO of Tiga says,

“We are very proud of all UK games developers and wish to congratulate Tiga members whose hard work and success has given them a place in Develop 100.

“Development is a significant creative and economic force in contemporary Britain and has the potential to be a continuing success story for the UK.

“Tiga’s purpose is to make the UK the best place in the world to do games business. The Develop 100 results confirm the strength of the UK games development sector.”
