Datel launches Max TV shopping channel

British videogame gadget manufacturer Datel has announced that it's set to move into television and online retail, with the launch of a new channel on Sky Digital offering electronics and gadgets for sale.

The company, best known for its Action Replay series of "videogame enhancers" - that's cheat cartridges to you and I - has established the Max TV channel on Sky Digital 669 with a view to selling specifically to "people with a passion for games and gadgets".

The channel, which went live earlier this week, will sell a selection of products ranging from computer home networking gear to petrol-powered miniature motorbikes, as well as - of course - the firm's own videogames products.

It will also be supported by an online retail site, www.max.tv, which will allow users to buy any of the items advertised on the TV channel.
