Speaking exclusively to GamesIndustry.biz, Stefan Heinemann, licensing director for Wallaroo, has revealed that ringtone character the Crazy Frog is to appear in his own videogame on PC, PS2 and GBA.

The game will be "out by Christmas" and will be in the racing genre, according to Heinemann.

"It will definitely be a game that's cool, but also annoying, just like the Crazy Frog," he said. "It's going to be a lot of fun."

The Crazy Frog has become a European-wide phenomenon in recent weeks, selling millions of ringtones and mobile graphics and topping the singles charts across the continent.

German software publisher DTP has signed up to produce the game on GBA, with CEO Thomas Baur commenting: "The Crazy Frog is one of the most popular licenses of today's entertainment market. It is an exciting project to apply all our developing and publishing experience."

Wallaroo declined to reveal the name of the publisher signed up for the PC and PS2 games, but said an announcement will be made within the next week.
