Cousins to give keynote at Paris GDC

DICE developer to talk about the future of casual and hardcore gaming.

Ben Cousins is to deliver a keynote speech at the Paris Games Developers Conference scheduled to take place over June 23-24.

Cousins, the executive producer of EA DICE's Battlefield franchise and lead developer of Battlefield Heroes, will deliver a speech entitled "Scenes from the Battlefield: The Present and Future of Core and Casual".

"Ben has a successful history of coaxing our industry into the 21st Century, and we expect that his experiences fomenting evolution with Battlefield Heroes will prove highly illuminating to our audience," said Jamil Moledina, executive director of GDC Events.

The talk will focus on consumer trends and the potential of free-to-play games like Battlefield Heroes, EA's first free-to-play online game. He is also planning to discuss possible crossovers between casual and hardcore games and the future of PC gaming.
