The countdown has begun for what is set to be Europe's largest conference and expo for the games creative community, as organisers of the Develop Conference and Expo release more details about the speakers and participants that will be descending on Brighton during the week of July 10th.
With over 70 speakers taking part in 47 sessions across three days, the conference will cover every aspect of the creative and technical process as well as the business of making games, and will feature industry luminaries such as Ken Perlin, Peter Molyneux, Tetsuya Mizuguchi, Marty O'Donnell, Andrew Oliver, Miles Jacobson, Jonathan Smith, Paulina Bozek, Ernest Adams and Simon Carter to name just a few.
In addition to the conference, over 30 companies will be taking part in an expo with products and services designed specifically for the development community. A full list is attached.
"It's time that the UK has a development event that reflects the creativity and the dynamism of the European development community," commented the events organiser, Andy Lane from Tandem Events. "The Develop Conference and Expo caters for every company in the community with sessions to appeal to every branch of the community. The whole week will be about networking, learning, doing business and at times celebrating the tremendous talent that exists with the community."
In addition to the main conference there will be an IGDA workshop, a Develop Mobile conference, a Serious Games Workshop, GamesEdu - a day long event dedicated to the educational community involved with games related courses - and a Developer Day sponsored by ATI.
The social highlight of the week will be the Develop Magazine Industry Excellence Awards night held on Wednesday 12th.
"If you're involved in any way with games development in Europe there's only one place you need to be this summer. If you're serious about developing your knowledge, your business, your contacts and your opportunities, The Develop Conference and Expo is a must visit event this year," continued Lane.
The Develop Conference and Expo is supported by Develop Magazine and is sponsored by Sony Studios, Philips AmBX, Autodesk and Nokia.
