Confectionary Countdown To Adventure

BASINGSTOKE ENGLAND (NOVEMBER 24TH 2005). Its official, the long awaited SMARTIES MELTDOWN for Playstation 2® is launching Easter 2006! SMARTIES MELTDOWN follows the adventures of BIG BLUE, a lone hero destined to save his fellow SMARTIES from the evil clutches of DR SOURSWEET. Releasing MARCH 2006, SMARTIES MELTDOWN is distributed and published by KOCH Media under the Europress Brand, RRP £19.99.

Dr Soursweet, an evil genius with plans of galactic domination, is on his latest mission to shut down the production of Smarties by taking over the Smarties factory in deep space. Hell bent on revenge, as kids no longer desire his own confectionary creations, Soursweet has hi-jacked the factory with his ruthless, sugary army - the Stroopers, shutdown the power and imprisoned all the Smarties. All but one, that is - our hero.....Big Blue.

Evading capture during the takeover, Big Blue stumbles upon an 'Exosuit' designed to give the wearer special powers and super strength. Armed with these new-found abilities, Blue sets forth to vanquish the Stroopers, restore production, and ensure the children of Earth aren't deprived of their favourite chocolate playmate.

Players take on the role of BIG BLUE, on a mission to re-activate the main power switches found within each sector. However, the path to success is not an easy one, challenges lie around each corner. To progress through the levels players must use Big Blue's new skills and a collection of special weapons found along the way. Find a 'Heat Ray' to shrink the enemies, locate the 'speed boots' to run away from any attack and the 'choco ray' is guaranteed to stop Stroopers in their tracks.

To give the game a quirky twist developers have studied the Nestle factory in Switzerland, designing each location based on the real Life Smarties production rooms. Meticulous detail has been taken to ensure the player can enjoy a true SMARTIES experience.
