Com2uS to Release Shane Warne Cricket for Mobile

International cricket game with multiple game modes and fully interactive batting and bowling coming to mobile with Shane Warne.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Seoul, June 2005 - Australian leg-spin bowling legend Shane Warne joins gamers in Shane Warne Cricket, a cricket game for mobile that challenges the batting and bowling skills of users in international cricket. The game, developed and published with Com2uS together with Shane Warne, will be available on java-enabled handsets from July through major carriers in Australia and the UK, with plans for other cricket-loving countries to follow. It will initially be available exclusively for 1 month to Three Australia customers.

As batsmen, players bat against both spin and pace bowlers with an arsenal of shots at their disposal, including leg and off drives, as well as a straight defensive block. As bowlers, players can choose whether to use pace bowling or spin (both off-spin and leg-spin). Users can play as Shane Warne himself or against him and he'll entertain all with his off-the-cuff banter.

Gamers get 3 modes to play with. One Day Mode pits users against international teams in a limited-overs match of 3, 5, or 10 overs, recreating the tension of one-day cricket on mobile. Quick Match Mode sets up tense game scenarios, such as being 8 wickets down and needing 32 runs to win. Net Practice Mode gives users the chance to brush up their batting and bowling skills.

"'Shane Warne is one of the world's most famous cricketers and the greatest wicket-taker of all time and we are delighted to be working with him in the run-up to the biggest event in cricket this year, the Ashes series between Australia and England," says Henry Yeh, Senior Vice President of Com2uS. "In Shane Warne Cricket, we have created a fun, fast and detailed version of the real game where gamers can take on teams from all over the world, practise in the nets and even replicate Shane's famous 'flipper' bowl. We look forward to a successful summer for Shane and Shane Warne Cricket for mobile."

Features:

  • Bowling, batting, and AI fielding for mobile.
  • Three modes provide more variety and fun: One Day, Quick Match, and Net Practice.
  • Features one of cricket's greatest talents and personalities.
  • International cricket with main cricketing nations.
