Codemasters Online has signed a deal to distribute Fury, Auran's free-to-play MMO, in Europe.

Fury combines RPG and shooter elements and is built using Epic Games' Unreal Engine 3.

"We believe this unique and ground breaking product will appeal to MMO and action shooter gamers alike," said David Solari, VP of Codemasters Online.

"It's going to drive forward the online persistent market with Fury's new style of free-to-play, instant online action."

Australian developer Auran boasts an internationally experienced team of staff who between them have worked on numerous high-profile online titles including Star Wars Galaxies, Ultima Online, Middle-Earth Online and Asheron's Call.

"Fury has been designed from the ground up to be the best player versus player experience ever," added Tony Hilliam, CEO of Auran.

"Players are rewarded for their skill in battle, not time played and with our unique Incarnation System, players are not shackled by traditional RPG class restrictions. We're confident Fury is set to revolutionise online competitive gaming."
