Codemasters appoints new Euro exec

Former SCEE sales and marketing manager to lead publisher drive into Europe and emerging markets

Codemasters has appointed Hal Bame as director of distributor territories, to work with publisher partners in Europe, Australia and Russia and to help drive business in emerging markets.

Prior to joining Codemasters, Bame worked for Sony Europe as sales and marketing manager where he developed the business in Russia and helped form Sony Computer Entertainment Polska.

"The draw of Codemasters’ portfolio makes this a thoroughly exciting opportunity for me," commented Bame.

"With an impressive roster of proven brands and exciting new properties, including major releases such as Race Driver: GRID, Overlord: Raising Hell, Rise of the Argonauts and Dragonology, we have an excellent schedule for our existing distribution partners and the right content to drive entry into new markets as we extend Codemasters’ reach."

In the past fiscal year, Codemasters' international sales have grown by 72 per cent.

"The dedicated Distributor Territories unit complements our established overseas operations in North America, France, Germany, Holland, Austria, Switzerland and Poland," added Tony Williams, COO of Codemasters.

"Hal brings a wealth of expertise and experience that will be hugely beneficial as we invest further in outlying markets."
