CMP acquires The Game Initiative

CMP Game Group has acquired conference producer The Game Initiative and will now run its leading event, the Austin Game Conference.

CMP Game Group has acquired conference producer The Game Initiative for US $1.15 million (EUR 915,000) and will now run its leading event, the Austin Game Conference.

"We'd like to congratulate The Game Initiative for a phenomenally successful Austin Game Conference this year; we look to continue to grow and strengthen the show and to serve the attendees, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors with a top quality event," said Philip Chapnick, senior vice president for CMP Technology.

CMP now hopes to expand and enhance the Austin Game Conference, due to take place September 6th - 8th 2007.

"We are confident that the future of the event will be well served by CMP, which has deep resources in event management," said Christopher Sherman, executive director of The Game Initiative.

"They will be able to facilitate the growth of the event without sacrificing what we deliver to our loyal attendees and sponsors," he added.
