Clothes Make The Hero

Gamers design combat gear for gladiatorial combat

Thursday 18 August 2005/... NCsoftTM Europe can today announce the results of Europe's largest ever City of Heroes costume design competition. The four winning outfits have been chosen, and now over 80 teams from all over Europe are fighting for the chance to wear those outfits in the Grand Finals of Super Summer Slam Spectacular (S4), Europe's enormous City of Heroes tournament. To see all the competing outfits and find out more details on this exciting competition, point your browser towards http://eu.cityofheroes.com

Places in the Grand Finals are being fiercely contested in the initial combative stage, entitled the Pentad Cup. Over the past few weeks the 84 competing teams have fought in titanic battles, and within the next month the teams for the Grand Finals will be determined. Each of the four European server's winning teams will then don their respective winning costumes, to battle it out in the Grand Finals for the chance to call themselves champions of Europe. Prizes for the winners of Super Summer Slam Spectacular range from framed artwork and unique engraved medals, to iPod minis and City of Villains Beta accounts.

Stephen Reid, Content and Community Manager at NCsoft Europe, said: "We had an excellent response to our call for costumes - the community came up with some fantastic designs. It was tough to choose our finalists, but the community had the final vote. Now all that remains is for our heroes to hit battle it out for the right to call themselves European champions!"
