Danish trade body Multi Medie Foreningen has appointed Chart-Track to compile weekly charts data.

Danish trade body Multi Medie Foreningen has appointed Chart-Track to compile weekly charts data.

The company will monitor retail sales of videogame software and console hardware through outlets such as EB Games, Coop, Dansk Supermarked and Blockbuster.

"We aim to develop a top quality service for the whole games industry in Denmark, built on our experience in the UK and Ireland," commented John Pinder, MD of Chart-Track.

Following a six-month trial period, the first weekly charts have been released, with EA's Need for Speed: Carbon at number one.

"For the first time we now have access to independent market retail data and we see this as a major step forward for the Danish games industry," said Peter Weile, MD of Ubisoft Nordic.
