Castle Crashers most popular XBLA game in 2008
Halo 3 most played multiplayer Live game, BF: Bad Company most popular multiplayer demo
The Behemoth's original 2D game, Castle Crashers, was the most played Xbox Live Arcade Game in 2008, according to data from Microsoft.
The game was released in August over the Xbox 360 digital download service, and beat other new releases to the top of the list including Bizarre Creations' sequel Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 and Braid, from independent developer Jonathan Blow.
Microsoft also revealed that Halo 3 – released in September 2007 – was still the most popular multiplayer game on Xbox Live in 2008, holding off competition from Call of Duty 4, also released the previous year.
Titles released in 2008 that made the top 10 most popular Live multiplayer list included Gears of War 2, Call of Duty: World at War and GTA IV.
The most popular multiplayer demo in 2008 was for EA's Battlefield: Bad Company, followed by Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.
